Pandharpur Mandir, also known as Vitthal Rukmini Mandir, is one of the most famous pilgrimage sites in Maharashtra. The main deity of the temple is Lord Vitthal (Vithoba), considered a form of Lord Krishna or Vishnu. Devotees lovingly call him Vithoba, Pandurang, or Mauli, and he stands on a brick with his hands on his waist. The temple is situated on the banks of the Chandrabhaga (Bhima) River in Pandharpur, Solapur district. Every year, lakhs of pilgrims, known as Warkaris, walk in processions (wari) from different parts of Maharashtra to Pandharpur. The two major yatras, Ashadhi Ekadashi and Kartik Ekadashi, are celebrated with great devotion and huge gatherings. Pandharpur Mandir is not just a temple but also a symbol of faith, equality, and devotion in the Warkari Sampradaya.
