Ambarnath Temple, also known as the Ambreshwar Shiva Temple, is located near Kalyan in Thane district. It is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to have been built in the 11th century. The temple is famous for its unique Hemadpanthi style of architecture, carved entirely out of stone. Intricate stone carvings of deities, animals, and floral designs adorn the temple walls. The sanctum sanctorum houses a Shiva Linga and is surrounded by beautifully sculpted pillars. Every year, thousands of devotees visit the temple during Mahashivratri to offer prayers.
