Daulatabad Fort
Daulatabad Fort is located near Chatrapati Sambhajinagar. It was originally known as Deogiri Fort before being renamed Daulatabad. The fort stands on a conical hill about 600 feet high, making it naturally well protected. It was built in the 12th century by the Yadava dynasty. The fort later came under the control of the Delhi Sultanate, the Mughals, and the Nizams. Daulatabad is famous for its strong defense system, including moats, spiked gates, and narrow pathways. The Chand Minar, a tall victory tower, is one of the major attractions inside the fort. Today, Daulatabad Fort is a popular tourist site and a symbol of medieval Indian military architecture.
