Torna Fort

Torna Fort is located in Pune district, Maharashtra, and is the highest fort in the district at about 4,603 feet. It is also called Prachandgad because of its large size. The fort was the first fort captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1646, when he was only 16 years old. Torna Fort has ancient temples, water tanks, and strong fortifications. The Menghai Devi temple, also known as Tornaji temple, is an important spot inside the fort. It offers breathtaking views of the Sahyadri mountains and nearby forts like Rajgad and Purandar. Today, Torna is a popular trekking destination for adventure lovers and history enthusiasts.
